1. Project Hero

Tagline: Turning a pizza promotion into an engaging gamified ordering experience.

Role: UI/UX Designer

Timeline: 1 Week

Tools: Figma

2. Overview

This project explores the design of an interactive promotional landing page for a pizza restaurant.

Instead of using traditional static banners or discounts, the concept introduces a gamified experience where users can spin a pizza wheel to win a discount on their order.

The landing page visually showcases the pizza while encouraging users to interact with the interface and unlock special offers.

3. Problem

Traditional restaurant landing pages often rely on static promotional banners that fail to capture user attention.

Users may ignore standard discounts or promotional messages because they lack interactivity and engagement.

The challenge was to design a promotional experience that captures user interest while encouraging them to interact with the website and place an order.

4. Objectives

The design focused on increasing user engagement through a gamified promotional experience.

Key goals included making the promotion visually appealing, encouraging interaction with the pizza wheel, and guiding users toward ordering food after receiving a discount.

5. Target Users

The interface is designed for online food customers who visit the restaurant website to explore menu items and place orders.

Users expect a visually engaging experience that quickly communicates offers and makes ordering simple.

Gamified promotions appeal particularly to younger audiences who enjoy interactive digital experiences.

6. Design Approach

The design approach focused on creating a playful and engaging food ordering experience.

A large pizza graphic was used as the central interactive element, allowing users to spin the pizza wheel to unlock discounts.

Floating ingredients and a dark background enhance the visual atmosphere while keeping focus on the main interactive element.

7. Interaction Concept

The user interaction begins when the user clicks on the pizza wheel displayed on the landing page.

Once clicked, the pizza slices rotate like a spinning wheel animation, creating anticipation similar to a reward game.

After spinning, the wheel stops on a randomly selected slice representing a pizza type or reward.

Once the result appears, the interface transitions to the promotional offer screen showing the discount and a clear call-to-action to order the selected pizza.

8. Layout Structure

The layout places the pizza wheel at the center of the screen to make it the main interactive element.

Promotional text and instructions are positioned around the wheel to guide the user.

The navigation menu remains minimal to avoid distracting from the promotional interaction.

Once the wheel stops, the interface transitions to the promotional offer screen with product information and an order button.

9. Visual Design

The visual design uses a dark theme to create contrast and highlight colorful pizza ingredients.

High-quality food imagery and vibrant toppings make the pizza visually appealing and realistic.

Floating ingredient graphics add a playful atmosphere and reinforce the theme of fresh ingredients.

10. Key Screens

The landing page begins with a promotional hero screen highlighting the pizza offer.

The interactive spin screen allows users to rotate the pizza wheel to unlock a discount.

Once the wheel stops, the promotion screen displays the selected pizza offer and a call-to-action to place the order.

11. Results

The final design creates a highly engaging promotional landing page that encourages users to interact with the brand.

The gamified experience transforms a simple discount promotion into a memorable interaction that increases user engagement and encourages food orders.

12. Learnings

Gamification can significantly increase user engagement when applied to promotional experiences.

Instead of static offers, interactive elements such as spin wheels or reward systems can make users more likely to explore offers and take action.

This project reinforced the importance of combining strong visuals with simple interactive mechanics.
